Dr. Charles S. Brown Sr. & Mrs. Millicent P. Brown
Vision
Bettering lives through multi-generational family-based, philanthropy.
Mission
The Charles S. and Millicent P. Brown Family Foundation founded in 1999 provides philanthropic support to agencies and programs intended for charitable, educational, faith-based, literary, medical or scientific purposes. This could include agencies and programs that address issues of education; peace and justice; care of the sick or aged; prevention of disease; improvement of the life of the poor, indigent, or homeless; prevention of cruelty to humans and animals; and conservation of wildlife and natural habitats.
The Charles S. and Millicent P Brown Family Foundation will carry out this mission in a way that:
Supports programs that are judged to have the highest probability of success in achieving the maximum impact on the agencies and programs;
Provides support for the creation of new programs, the extension of existing programs, and sustaining support for existing institutions;
Supports programs that have demonstrated or are expected to produce measurable results to the target community;
Provides for the support of a diverse set of agencies or programs reflective of the diverse interests of the family members;
Is consistent with applicable US tax code;
Provides experiential education to multiple family generations of the importance and tradition of philanthropy in our family's values;
Encourages interested adult family members to engage in the Foundation's activities;
Helps successive generations to understand what it means to provide support to others without the expectation of receiving something in return.
In doing so the Foundation serves as a worthy steward of the generous financial wealth shared by Charles S. and Millicent P. Brown providing monetary support to agencies and programs which are consistent with our vision of "Bettering lives through multi-generational, family-based philanthropy."
